When I began my journey to event planning, it came to me by surprise. I was very fortunate to start my career as a business owner but in marketing... social media marketing... over 8 years ago when social media marketing was in its infancy. I love what I do but found there was a passion of mine that was untapped. Designing and creating. I grew up in a creative family, a family of graphic designers. I loved decorating my room growing up, creating collages and taking my school projects up a notch. This was always in my soul. So how did I come up with the idea of 'luxury picnics'? Well, like most ideas, they're not always original. I took a trip to Perth, Australia and fell in love with this company, even before my visit, that hosted and planned these picnics. 'How magical!', I thought. She gets to celebrate people's biggest moments with them every day. I thought to myself, this is the perfect way to combine my love for designing/event planning with my other passion: the outdoors. I romanticized the idea as a 'retirement plan' some day. Something I could do towards the end of my career, especially with my social media marketing age on the constant up and up. I pursued other 'big ideas' and apps, sites and businesses that would be my next move but my heart kept falling back to this concept. Finally, after much internal debate, my heart took over and I signed up for my Event Planning certificate. Here I am, finishing school, building my site, hosting my first picnics for friends and family and watching this inspiration unfold into reality. It's a fantastic feeling and I cannot wait to put smiles on my client's faces and watch magic happen with each event. Here I go!
